LOCAL REACH . GLOBAL IMPACT
from describing our realities to taking collective action
JOHANNESBURG . 2 – 6 MARCH 2020

The Global Equality Fund (GEF) in partnership with the Other Foundation and the Hilton group of hotels, will convene a stakeholders’ workshop of about 100 current and former GEF grantees, partners and other stakeholders from about 75 countries, from 2 to 6 March 2020. It will be held at the Hilton Sandton hotel, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The four-day workshop will be interactive with each participant regarded as a discussant rather than an attendee. We will be calling upon you to play an active role in the discussion. This will enable discussants to share each other’s successes and struggles through a series of consultation sessions, panel discussions, open space networking moments, learning clinics, and social interactions.

The stakeholders’ workshop will inform ongoing programming, increase collaboration, enhance diversity and inclusion, advance safety and security practices, and improve administrative efficiency in managing GEF funds. It will facilitate shared learning, especially for newer GEF grantees and partners, with the intention of enhancing the scale and quality of the impact of GEF-supported initiatives around the world.

A majority of the workshop will be closed to the public.  Local LGBTI and ally communities in South Africa will be invited to open sessions and public events, and discussants will be offered the opportunity to visit local groups and sites.
